I’m a professional freelance photographer, concentrating mainly on people photography, and the main proportion of my work is in London. I do a lot of corporate work – corporate portraiture, photography in the workplace…, a fair bit of events work too (mainly corporate entertainment, awards ceremonies), and also shoot a number of trade shows and conferences. This aspect of my work has opened up thanks to my main ‘go-to’ camera, the Nikon D3, which has stunning low-light capabilities. Conference photography may not sound thrilling, but when the D3 allows you to shoot fly-on-the-wall style using available light and minimal flash, suddenly a whole load more creative opportunities become available…

You’ll sometimes find me in the studio, usually shooting people for book jackets, but more often than not if I’m lighting my subjects I try to use outside flash to create a combination of available and artificial light. I love using my Nikon speedlights (SB-800 & SB-900) off-camera for quick dynamic lighting effects. If I do need something with a bigger kick, I’ll go for the Profoto Pro B-3 packs…
