What’s the normal turnaround time for the photos you take?
By default, processing and turnaround time of files is normally pretty speedy (within a couple of days). Depending on workload, this may vary – but if you need your shots urgently I can always make sure you receive them on time.
What’s post processing and what does it involve?
I shoot all files in RAW format (ie Nikon .nef files). This allows the broadest possible dynamic range when it comes to processing the files into jpeg format. As standard, my post-processing process involves editing, cropping, colour correcting and optimising for exposure. This is done on the RAW files in Adobe Lightroom, at which stage the files are then processed into uncompressed high-res as well as compressed low-res jpegs ready for delivery over the web or on DVD.
How are digital files delivered?
I use a password-protected client back-end for speedy file distribution. High resolution images are uploaded (if required a separate gallery of duplicate low resolution can be created) and a link and password are then sent to the client, who is then able to preview and download files either individually or in a batch as a zip file. I’ve found this system particularly useful for PR and corporate events photography where there is often a speedy turn-around needed. The online system allows the client to share images instantly with their media contacts, reducing the need for images to be emailed around to multiple picture desks. If required, images can also be sent as a hard copy on DVD.
